The Hospital Foundation

To Support KershawHealth

Since its earliest days, KershawHealth has succeeded in good part because of the generous spirit of the communities it serves. From Bernard Baruch, who donated the funds that helped build the first Camden Hospital in 1913, to Marion DuPont Scott who bequeathed her Springdale Race Course to the state with the stipulation that part of the annual Carolina and Colonial Cup proceeds be given to KershawHealth, local citizens have always been committed to helping our healthcare system carry out its mission.

The Hospital Foundation continues this tradition, helping to support major advancements throughout our healthcare system. Community contributions to the Foundation enable the expansion and enhancement of healthcare facilities and help attract the best nurses, physicians and other medical professionals to deliver the highest possible level of care.

The Hospital Foundation was established in 1989 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Governed by a volunteer board of community leaders, the Foundation enables members of the community to participate in KershawHealth’s mission to care for all the people in the Kershaw County area.
