Flu Season Updates

Flu season has begun early and is expected to be particularly severe this year, especially with the advent of H1N1 (swine) flu. We are expecting both seasonal flu and H1N1 flu to be active in our community. Flu vaccines will be available beginning in October, and are highly recommended. Talk to your healthcare provider about your individual needs.

If you are ill, please don't visit anyone in the hospital. Patients in the hospital already have compromised health, and you run the risk of making them more ill.

Symptoms of the flu or flu-type illness include: fever (100° F or higher) with cough/sore throat, body aches and possibly diarrhea. If you think you have the flu, call your healthcare provider. They can provide guidance on treatment options.
