Gastroenterology

Most digestive disease, which can include the debilitating disorders of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and even cancer can be difficult to diagnose, due to the lack of specific symptoms or signs on physical examination.

Our department of gastroenterology works to provide state-of-the-art technology and the expertise of skilled physicians for diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases.

Board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Bright Williamson was one of the first physicians in the state to perform Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) – a procedure that uses endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the pancreas and bile ducts including cancers and bile duct stones.

In addition, a number of our physicians and surgeons perform procedures such as colonoscopy and flex sigmoidoscopy in the gastroenterology lab.

Other gastroenterological diagnostic procedures include:
  • Colonoscopy
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
  • Anoscopy
  • Hemorrhoid Banding
  • Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
  • Feeding Tube Placement
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography  (ERCP)
  • Small Bowel Capsule Endoscpy
  • Wireless PH Monitoring
